Covid Safety Audit
Client: The Cooper Gallery, Barnsley
Scope: To review the existing interactive exhibits, recommend adaptions to increase COVID security, make the adaptions.
The client teams brief was for Unusual Projects to work with them to help make the physical interactives as safe as possible for visitors with regard to Covid 19 to facilitate a safe reopening.
We worked closely with the client team to undertake a full review of the sites interactives with a view to keeping as many open and accessible as possible but in a safe manner which is manageable by the client front of house team.
Following the review, we issued a fully costed report containing our recommendations, this allowed the client to make an informed decision about what to keep on open display and what adaptions to progress. All of our adaptions are temporary and compliment the original designs allowing for reversal when ‘normality’ resumes. Our adaptions included; replacing ear pieces with fixed speakers, placing acrylic screens over interactives with adapted graphics so it can still be utilised but not touched and finally replacing some simpler interactives with interpretative graphics which replace the message normally communicated through interaction.
