We specialise in the bespoke and unique installation of interactive exhibits, scenic set works and models for the heritage sector. Our team of experienced designers, technicians, joiners, metal workers, scenic artists, model and prop makers have worked together for over a decade and are based within the creative hub of York.
Our team has vast industry experience and have worked for institutions including Historic Royal Palaces, Glasgow Science Centre, National Museums Liverpool, British Motor Museum and Chester Zoo to name but a few.
We excel in working collaboratively, both with clients and other contractors. We very much enjoy the creative development phase and encourage clients and contractors to visit our workshops in York prior to installation to reassure all parties that the works in progress are as expected.
All works are warranted by Unusual Projects for twelve months as standard. We work closely with our customers from day one to fully understand the in-house maintenance capabilities available and advise accordingly through the design and build phases.
Our reputation is based upon the quality of our work, so it is very important to us that our interventions and exhibits are well maintained and remain looking as great as the day they were installed, we pride ourselves upon the high level of support we offer our customers post project.
We care about our impact on the planet.
That’s why at Unusual Projects we try our very best to minimise waste, recommend sustainable alternatives and recycle everything we can.
We value all interactions with our customers.
Lets work collaboratively to help understand what’s needed and deliver solutions they will love.
Look beyond just delivering what works, lets deliver what delights.
We test and prototype from day one to ensure exhibits are always operational for visitors.
We work with personality.
Our differences drive innovation, performance and a culture where everyone can be themselves.
Different perspectives strengthen our team.
Combining our world views and experiences make us better problem solvers and deliver better results.
We love what we do, we look for happy, motivated and positive people to be part of what we do.
It’s good for the team and our customers and is demonstrated through the exhibitions we work on.
